We hereby invite you to take part in the 6th International Young Scientists Conference
In 2012, the 2nd International Field School “European Great Lakes – Lake Onego” took place. This event, which has become regular, is an extension of the Institute’s targeted work for training talented youth for a scientific career, carried out in collaboration with Russian and foreign higher educational institutions and research institutes.
In 2013, the 3rd International Workshop “Cross-border catchments: Finland and Russia – the White Sea drainage basin” was organized, including a field trip to the White Sea and a session for young scientists.
In 2014, the NWPI Research and Education Centre, together with NWPI Young Scientists Council and RGS Division in the Republic of Karelia, organized the 4th International Youth Conference and School “Seas, lakes and cross-border catchments of Russia, Finland and Estonia”.
In 2016, the conference and workshop were organized, and included keynote lectures by reputable scientists, oral and poster presentations by Master and PhD students and early career scientists, and provided opportunities for going on field trips to do sampling and instant assaying.
VENUE AND TIME
The Summer practice school will be held at the Northern Water Problems Institute, Petrozavodsk, Republic of Karelia (Pushkinskaya, 11) on September 1st to 2nd, 2020.
The conference, arranged by the Northern Water Problems Institute, will take place at the Karelian Research Centre RAS, Petrozavodsk, Republic of Karelia (Pushkinskaya, 11) on September 3th to 5th, 2020.
The Winter limnological practice schools (courses) will be held at the Lammi Biological Station of the University of Helsinki
before the conference, on March 9-13, 2020
and after the conference – in March 2021.
Further information about the winter limnological courses will be disseminated around October 2019.
