The aims of the conference are to discuss a wide range of issues covering various aspects of research into the natural, historical and cultural heritage of the European North, as well as to join the efforts of scientists and specialists in various fields in dealing with the most pressing problems of northern regions.
To this end, the following thematic sessions will be arranged:
1. Study and conservation and natural complexes, sustainable nature use;
2. Historical and cultural heritage, and traditions of the peoples living in the European North;
3. Socio-economic aspects of development in the North.
In addition to the above sessions, some roundtable discussions will be organized to cover narrower topics and scientific areas.
Conference dates
May 24, 2016 – registration of participants
May 25-27, 2016 – – plenary and thematic sessions, roundtable discussions
May 28, 2016 – scientific and general-interest excursions.
Venue:
Karelian Research Centre RAS, 11 Pushkinskaya St., Petrozavodsk.
Plenary and thematic sessions, workshops and roundtable discussions will take place at KarRC RAS Conference Hall, meeting rooms, auditoriums.
